Belly Dance At Any Size

"You're too thin to be a belly dancer"

"Nobody wants to see your fat belly jiggle around"

It doesn't matter what size or shape you are, someone is going to tell you that your body isn't right. We know in our hearts it's not true, but it sticks in our brains and festers. You're too thin, too fat, got a big bum, got no bum, got huge breasts, got no breasts, are pear-shaped, curvy, square, round, oval ... It's all unnecessary labels.
I'm going to be doing a series on body image and belly dancing leading into self-esteem. This is something every woman experiences in many facets of our lives and hopefully we can turn the conversation from what's wrong with our bodies, to what's right.

Let's start with this article I found by Andalee, the founder of Belly Dance at Any Size.
