Hair Dancing

Well, my post on children belly dancing as been met with mixed reviews. On one of the threads on Facebook, a commenter mentioned the use of hair "flipping" in belly dance. So I thought we'd touch on it today while I mull over the different arguments presented to me about kids.
Some people don't like the use of hair in belly dance at all and that's okay. Others use in extensively. We (in my studio) use our hair in some dances. Not all, and only in an advanced class where we feel the dancers are ready. I think they can look great if used in moderation and with the right music. I'm not a fan of continually flipping your hair throughout an Egyptian dance. I believe it isn't traditionally Egyptian? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Of course other dances that fit under the umbrella of belly dance use the hair extensively.
Where does it come from?
1. Raqs Na'ashat in the Khaliji hair dance.
2. Shikhat dancing from Morocco.

Raqs Na'ashat is a softer dance than Shikhat. I've seen both styles represented in Egyptian and fusion belly dance, mostly mixed in intensity and execution.

Here's some videos:
