Pilates and Bellydance
After having twins I found my stomach muscles were stretched out and my dancing didn't look the same. I worked hard but it wasn't getting any better. So I made a plan. I found a pilates instructor. I could feel it working immediately. I then had to change to another studio due to changes in times and this instructor was AMAZING!!! She really helped me with the getting the posture correct and getting all the benefits for each exercise. Unfortunately she emigrated and I haven't been able to find another class in a time slot where I'm free. However, I still do my pilates exercises (not as often as I should) and apply the techniques to my dance exercises.
I found this article online and thought it would be good to share it, especially since Maya Gaorry will be giving a workshop on pilates at the Theatrical Oriental Dance Festival in October.
