Taqsim Video

I've done a few posts on expression and sensuality recently, so it's only fitting to add some taqsim to the mix.

Taqsim is an improvisational piece where the musician and the belly dancer work as one. They bear their souls. One dancer called it "the suffering" in her workshop back in 2013. That's not exactly true, it's not all turmoil and despair, it can also be joy and elation. This is where expression and sensuality become the art and your body the tool.
