I thought it was fitting that the first video I post be of an iconic South African belly dancer. I have chosen Thelma Rose because she is full of energy, is loved by many, is generous and down to earth.
She began teaching herself Dancehall in 1998, but decided to find another form of dancing. She couldn't find anything that fascinated her until she attended Wits University's dance society's belly dance classes. She fell in love.
In 2014 she won 1st place in the South African Drum Solo Queen 2014 competition.
